It's a debate that's been going on seemingly since the Internet was invented. How do you pronounce GIF? Well, the folks from Jif and Giphy have teamed up to release a special edition jar of peanut butter to help answer the question once and for all.

Frankly, I don't think that it will solve any debate at all, as the jar is co-branded - one side is the normal Jif logo, while the other side shows a slightly altered version and spells out Gif.

The two companies say in their Amazon listing that this jar "unequivocally declares, 'Jif is peanut butter, GIFs are animations.'"

Listen, I love peanut butter as much as the next guy, but paying $10 for a "special edition" jar seems... weird. Even if you want to use it to prove to your friend that pronounces it "Jif" that they are wrong. (But hey, I give you mad petty points.)

There haven't been any reviews of the product yet, but I assume that it tastes like peanut butter and just has a slightly different label, so I don't know what people would have to either praise or talk smack about.
