Reindeer became associated with Santa and Christmas thanks to Pagan mythology . The reindeer came to symbolize creativity, resourcefulness and knowledge, whilst also representing safe journeying and endurance through travels. A perfect companion for Santa's global trip.

So pack up the car, bring your warm clothes, and take a trip to say hi to some of Santa's fuzziest helpers this holiday season.

GG Reindeer Farm

This farm is your closest bet to Grand Rapids, and has a long running tradition of being the home of Reindeer in Kent County.

GG Reindeer Farm has friendly and gentle reindeer that you can rent for any occasion, year round. While obviously Christmas is their busiest season, they are available for your Christmas in July party.

Their hours are limited, so you'll want to call ahead. They generally do more rentals than in person visits- but they are happy to accommodate. Or follow their facebook page for updates on future open houses that you can visit.

The Reindeer Ranch

2921 North 6th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009

This farm located outside of Kalamazoo specializes in Reindeer Experiences, and their reindeer herd is TB acredited, CWD certified since 2002, Michigan DNR and DARD registered and licensed.

They offer two types of tours that you can book that last anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes in length depending on which you choose. These are a great opportunity to allow curious minds to get up close and ask all of the questions they would like.
