November 1st arrived on Sunday. November is usually a very busy month with so much going on -- and this year is no exception.

We started out the month on the 1st by taking the time to "Fall Back" and turn our clocks back one hour to standard time. Hopefully you also checked the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when you changed your clocks.

On Tuesday, November 3rd, we head to the polls to cast our votes on Election Day. Many have already voted by absentee ballot. If you haven't already done so, you can get information on  your voting status and see additional election information on the Michigan Secretary of State website.

Wednesday, November 4th is Stress Awareness Day. Probably one of the biggest stresses in our live on Wednesday will be trying to figure out who won the election the day before!

A couple of other special days coming up in November include:

Sesame Street Day on Tuesday, November 10th. Everyone loves Sesame Street.

Sundae Day on Wednesday, November 11th.

November 11th is also Veterans' Day. A day set aside for us to honor those who have served, or are currently serving, in the United States Armed Force.

World Kindness Day on Friday, November 13th. We could use more kindness in the world right now.

We will also have a Friday the 13th in November. Only the second Friday the 13th in 2020. (The last one was in March).

Sunday, November 15th is Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. I'm always amazed at the things that end up pushed to the back of my refrigerator and start growing a live of their own!

World Television Day is Saturday, November 21st. Can you imagine live without television? Think of all the extra time we'd have in our lives!

November 21st is also the Great American Smokeout. It's a day sponsored by the American Cancer Society. More than 43 million people in the United States smoke cigarettes, that is about 1 in 5 adults. Quitting smoking isn’t easy. You don’t have to stop smoking in one day, but start with day one.

Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, November 26th. I'm ready for a nice, warm, home cooked turkey dinner! Even though 2020 has been a rough year for many, I'm sure we all can come up with at least one thing we are thankful for this year.

Black Friday is the following day, on Friday, November 27th. Many people start their holiday shopping on this day. (Not me, I usually wait until a few days before Christmas). It will be interesting to see how COVID-19 changes Black Friday shopping this year.

Cyber Monday will be on November 30th, when everyone hits the internet to do their shopping, in hopes of scoring some great deals online.

Monday, November 30th is Computer Security Day. Make sure your computer is safe from viruses and malware.

And don't forget to throw away that razor in November. It's Movember. Time to grow some facial hair!
