Welcome Newest Grand Rapidians!

The new year brings special meaning for three West Michigan couples, and we have three new residents!

Gloria and Maximo welcomed Grand Rapids' first baby of the year. Little Jennifer was welcomed at 2:10am Sunday at Saint Mary's Health Care, weighing seven pounds, eight ounces, and everyone is doing well including papa!

About 30 minutes later, Spectrum Health welcomed its first baby.

Less than two hours later, Metro Health Hospital's first baby of 2012 was delivered at 4:49 a.m. Sunday, to Anne and Richard Smith of Walker.  With three daughters already in the household, the Smiths welcomed their new son, Brayden.  Little Brayden's middle name is Michael, a tribute to his late uncle, who became very sick and died after fighting in Desert Storm.
