WZZM reports that even though the City of Grand Rapids utility workers worked all day Thursday to try to repair a water main break at the intersection of Michigan Street and Diamond Avenue, it looks as though there will still be lane and road closures overnight in that area.

Currently and throughout the overnight, you'll still be able to travel east and west on Michigan Street, it's just down to one lane at the intersection of Diamond, but they are completely closing off the intersection to northbound Diamond Ave. WZZM says that crews will be utilizing the overnight hours and lane closures to continue to work on the broken water main.

Crews hope to have the problem fixed and have both Diamond Ave and Michigan Street back open normally by tomorrow morning.

On Fox 17, they said that if you have any questions regarding the repair work of the broken water main, to call the city water system office at 616-456-4055.
