It gave its customers discounts on new mobile phones up to $100 when the renewed their contract.

Customers that are due for a New Every Two credit can still take advantage of the deal one last time; apparently they will be able use it to offset the cost of a new iPhone.

Last week Verizon announced plans to sell the iPhone February 10.   The company hasn’t said, however, that dropping New Every Two was done because of the iPhone.
