Two of the Victims in the Texas Church Shooting Were From Northern Michigan
A gunman opened fire on Sunday in the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, killing dozens.
We' have learned that two of the victims were from northern Michigan.
Fox 2 Detroit reports that Robert and Shani Corrigan, from Harrison, were among the deceased.
Currently, it is not known why the couple traveled to Texas.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, the Corrigans were both graduates of Harrison High School. A representative with Clare County Veteran's Services says that Robert was an Air Force retiree and that the couple has two sons currently on active duty.
Twenty-six people died in the shooting and nearly 20 more were wounded. Police say the shooter is dead. He has been identified as 26-year-old Devin Kelley.
