The Red Kettles are out and Mean so Much to People in Need
The campaign kicked off November 10th, and it's now in full swing. It's the Red Kettle Campaign for the Salvation Army of Kent County.
They have a lofty goal of $1.65 million dollars this year, but every dollar is needed to provide life-changing programs, and services to the homeless, addicted and hungry here in Kent County. Also, a part of that money will make sure that children will have some gifts on Christmas morning.
This year, the phrase "Fight for Good," is the battle cry to fight for those who are at their point of deepest need. All of us are needed to help.
There are several ways to help. Of course, put some extra pocket change and dollar bills in the kettles when you see a volunteer bell ringer, but also, buy a "Season Pass Pin," in $20, $50 and $100 denominations, and wear it proudly when you pass a kettle. You can buy them online at www.SASeasonPass.org.
You may make a donation online at SAKentCounty.org, by phone, 616-459-3433, and by mail, Salvation Army, 1215 Fulton Street East, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
The Salvation Army is also looking for volunteers to Ring Bells at the Red Kettle sites, and to volunteer in their food pantry. You can get more information online at SAKentCounty.org
