The highly-ranked Grandville High School wrestling team is disqualified from post-season competition because the state high school athletic association says the school broke the rules.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association reports that the Team Wrestling Finals will be hosted by McGuirk Arena at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant for two years beginning with the 2016 tournament. The Team Wrestling Finals previously had been hosted by Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek since their inception in 1988.

Lowell High School wrestlers Josh Colegrove, Zeth Dean and Lucas Hall, who led the Red Arrows to their second consecutive MHSAA Division 2 state title in addition to capturing individual state titles, are co-winners of the Meijer-97.9 WGRD High School Athlete of the Week honor.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has made a number of changes for the 2014-15 winter sports season. Changes have been made to hockey, wrestling, and girls and boys basketball. Most changes focus on player safety.
