Summer is just around the corner and that means construction here in Michigan.  US-131 looks like it will be a parking lot during rush hour for the near future.  Road construction is planned on several segments of US-131 starting now and ending in September...

The Grand Rapids Police Department is warning residents about cutting through businesses' parking lots to avoid construction. In a Facebook post Tuesday, the GRPD warned residents of the fines and points attached to being ticketed for the offense.

While the weather isn't quite as warm as most of us would like it to be, it IS officially Spring here in West Michigan and among other things, that means that it's time for road construction season to begin. This weekend travelers on I-96 both east and westbound could experience some headaches due to lane closures.

Good News!  Most of Michigan's road construction will cease for the 4th of July Weekend.
