There is a lot of heart in hockey. No, really, a lot of heart in the players who may be playing a very rough sport, but care deeply for their fans. I'd like you to meet Christina, a diehard fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. Christina, who is blind, has never stopped rooting for her favorite team even though she has never seen them. What, not the Red Wings? Okay, maybe not, since she lives in Chicago.

No matter where you are, the national anthem is a big deal. It seems that the U.S.' national anthem is even a big deal in Canada. That's right, even in Canada!

The Grand Rapids Griffins' first outdoor game in a history dating to 1996 was a memorable one. The Griffins dropped a 4-3 shootout decision to the Toronto Marlies before 20,337 fans at Comerica Park in Detroit on Monday night. The Grand Rapids Griffinsare playing a part in American Hockey League and National Hockey League history this week. The Griffins' first outdoor game is against the Toronto Marlies at Comerica Park in Detroit on Monday, Dec. 30. The game is the fifth outdoor contest in AHL history.

If you have been to a Grand Rapids Griffin's Hockey Game, you're aware of the "Kiss Cam."  The video cameras following the game, will follow the crowd as well and try to get couples kissing for the video board.  It's all very cute.  Maybe you've been one of them.

There is still some work to be done, including a vote on Wednesday, but it appears NHL hockey is set to return after a lengthy labor dispute. Will you be watching?

If you're a hockey fan, this is great news for you.  Next season's Winter Classic between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs will be at Michigan Stadium, "The Big House."  And, they anticipate a record crowd of more that 110,000 fans.
