For the unsung heroes who include blood donation among their Thanksgiving plans, along with others who are starting a new lifesaving tradition, Michigan Blood wants to say Thanks for Giving.

Anne Wepman has been volunteering at Michigan Blood for over 40 years. Michigan Blood will celebrate Anne's commitment and her 100th birthday during "Anne Wepman Day" on January 27.

The need for blood never takes a holiday.  On this 4th of July, please remember that there is someone, somewhere, who will need the live-saving gift of blood.

They are co-workers, family members, classmates and neighbors … everyday people that save lives of strangers. And, today, Friday, June 14th, millions of blood donors are being recognized as part of World Blood Donor Day.

As the saying goes, “laughter is good medicine” and Michigan Blood, in partnership with Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, Gilda’s LaughFest, Blue Care Network of Michigan, and The Wege Foundation, are out to prove it.

After losing 33-28 in the final seconds of the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day, Outback Steakhouse may bring up bad memories for University of Michigan football fans. That's about to change. Life takes many roads, some good, some bad. Three months and a day after a tragic fatal accident tore through the hearts of three North Kent County families, communities are coming together to turn this tragedy into lifesaving gifts.

The holidays are a happy, wonderful time of the year for most families.  But, when the unexpected happens and you have a medical emergency it can turn your life upside down.
