This is the fifth year Holland is hosting part of the national collegiate ice carving competition. Saturday, January 5, is the final day of Holland's two day ice carving competition.

It's always tons of fun in downtown Rockford and Squires Street Square.  Quaint shops, great dining selections, and fun for the whole family. In February, the Fourth Annual Rockford Ice Festival is scheduled for the 8th, 9th & 10th. Thousands come every year to downtown Rockford. The schedule is set for 2013, and is even bigger than 2012. The Rockford Ice Festival kicks off this weekend, January 14th-15th!  As if the ice sculptures, scavenger hunt, ice carving demonstrations,  free hot chocolate and tons of other activities for the family are not enough, the rockford Ice Festival is looking to make it into the Guinness Book of World records...

I tried to get Randy Finch on the air with me the week his show was going to debut but he was already in Hollywood for the BIG Premiere show party.  I had the feeling that I had to get this guy before he gets too big.  I got him in the studio with me the following week and that was cool...

The Food Network's Ice Brigade is in town filming lots of different Ice Events.  Rockford's Ice Festival was one of them and today it's the gigantic Ice Chess Board that has been set up in Rosa Parks Circle.  It will remain there till Spring...
