How About Supporting a Veteran This Christmas

As we get closer to Christmas, we have more and more seasonal events...from light displays to concerts and stage productions. There are also some sporting events, ugly sweaters, and a chance to honor our veterans.

The Holiday Bar on 5th Street NW in Grand Rapids has announced they’ll donate all of Sunday’s sales to the Grand Rapids Veterans' Home as part of an apology.

The troubles at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans seem to keep growing. Yesterday, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced he is charging eleven former caregivers at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans with falsifying medical records.

Eleven former caregivers at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans have been charged with crimes by Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is encouraging people who have resided in the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans or who may have witnessed patient mistreatment, to come forward with information that could help the ongoing investigation into the treatment of patients in the facility.

The Salvation Army is celebrating the 78th annual National Doughnut Day, today, June 5 by giving away 2,000 free doughnuts.
