Grand Rapids Fire Department

The Grand Rapids Fire Department is the only city fire department in Michigan to receive this honor--  GRFD has gained International Accreditation, WZZM -13 reports.

Our Grand Rapids Fire Fighters are always here to help people, no matter what the need.  They are real American Heroes.  And, this week, they'll be helping the Muscular Dystrophy Association fight neuromuscular disease by raising funds for research, clinical care and support services; and to send kids to a free week of MDA Summer Camp!

Most of us have smoke detectors in our homes.  At least I HOPE we all have smoke detectors.  The problem may be that we don't have enough.  One or two won't cut it.  You need more to protect you and your family. If you live in Grand Rapids, a new survey says almost all Grand Rapids houses do not have enough working smoke detectors.
