If you like tacos and tequila -- or even just one or the other -- plan on being at LMCU Ballpark on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 from 4-8 pm. The Taco and Tequila Festival returns in 2022!
This event has sold out in the past. Last year this event was held in Lansing. The event was last held in Grand Rapids in 2020. The festival was held in Kalamazoo in the two years previous to that.
The event is organized by Outlier Events. They are working with the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Whitecaps Community Foundation to put this festival together.
Here is your chance to celebrate some of the state's best tacos and tequila. There will be Mexican food, tequila and mixed drinks. There will also be desserts and international beer. Along with the food and drink, you will find Mariachi bands, yard games, and other entertainment. There will also be a "people's choice" award for the best taco at the festival.
Only 2,500 tickets will be sold for this event. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, March 24th. There are a couple of ticket options: You can get VIP admission for $55. This gets you into the festival an hour earlier along with five taco samples and 10 tequila or mixed drink samples. Or you can get a $40 general admission ticket which includes three taco samples and five tequila or mixed drink tickets. (Additional tokens will be available for $3 each). There is also an option for children and designated drivers. For $30 they can get three taco samples along with soda or water. The event is open to all ages, with free admission for children 3 years old or younger.
Parking at LMCU Ballpark will be $8. Keep in mind that this year LMCU Ballpark has gone cashless. Leave your dollar bills and coins at home. Only credit and debit cards will be accepted for payment for parking, merchandise, etc. at the ballpark.
Between now and then, you will have to figure out what you like best -- hard shell or soft shell tacos? Also, salt or no salt with your tequila?!
