Police have arrested a man for four recent armed robberies in Kent, Montcalm, and Ionia counties. 

Fox 17 reports that the suspect is from Montcalm County.

He was taken into custody Friday morning after a short chase with police.

The man is accused of robbing the Gowen General Store, the Belding Party Store, a Marathon gas station in Sheridan, and the C-Store gas station in Rockford.

The Belding Party Store owner Samuel Mason, who was robbed at gunpoint, told Fox 17,  " [I] was afraid he was going to shoot somebody, he is armed, he is dangerous.”

The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, is being held at the Montcalm County jail.
