Starting This Weekend You Can Catch A Ferry From Muskegon To Milwaukee Via Lake Michigan
While we all may love living in West Michigan, if you want to leave and travel via car to other parts of the midwest, you may find yourself having to add a lot of extra time to your trip just to get to the other side of Lake Michigan.
But in the warmer months, there are several options to help you head west to areas like Wisconsin and west without having to take the long loop around the lake and mess with the headache of Chicago Traffic.
The Lake Express Ferry announced that they will be launching a new route in their 2022 travel season. Starting Friday, they will be offering a ferry that will connect Muskegon to Milwaukee, WI.
The high-speed ferry will make four daily trips across Lake Michigan, with each leg of the trip taking about two-and-a-half hours. To give you an idea, taking a car from Muskegon to Milwaukee normally would take you around 5 hours if you take the toll road, or six if you want to save a little money. Not to mention the fact that gas is currently over $4 a gallon, it may make more sense to take the ferry.
Later in the year, starting June 17, Lake Express plans to provide two additional daily crossings with the addition of summer evening sailings.
If you're curious about the cost- To take a round trip this weekend, it's $181 per adult, and $218 per vehicle, with additional price increases for anything towing a trailer. They also offer discounts to seniors and children as well.
