It's fireworks season in Michigan, and a lot of people aren't happy about it. Under the current Michigan law, fireworks are allowed on holidays such as the Fourth of July and the day before and after. The law also states that fireworks are not allowed between midnight and 8:00 AM.

Many Michigan residents are complaining about the current law because it puts people and pets in danger, as well as leaves debris all over. This is in addition to all the noise created by the fireworks.

A moveon.org petition has been signed by more than 28,000 people who want to get rid of the current law, and make it so only professionals can light fireworks. If they get their way, Michigan would go back to the pre-2011 ban on airborne fireworks. Are you a fan of this law, or would losing fireworks ruin your holiday?
