The snow we've seen so far is getting skiers excited for the start of the ski season.

How long until we have a chance to ski in West Michigan?

Yesterday, Boyne Mountain in Boyne Falls, Michigan announced that they had begun snow making for the first time this season.

They're not ready for business yet, but are hoping for some more cooperative weather to get them there soon.

Naturally, northern Michigan's ski season is ahead of West Michigan's, but how far ahead?

Cannonsburg Ski Area hasn't begun snow making, they're just keeping their fingers crossed for now hoping for some temperatures consistently in the 20s.

On Facebook, Cannonsburg Ski Area said their best guess of when they'll open is "shortly after Thanksgiving, but that's only if we get the temps!"

Good luck, skiers!
