Endless Shrimp was a big deal at Red Lobster restaurants. People flocked in to a busy restaurant. That was good, right?

Not so much. Sure, the promotion drove business but the cost of doing business skyrocketed and Red Lobster was so overwhelmed that the were forced to file for bankruptcy! Ouch!

Seriously, the bankruptcy was due to many other miss-management factors, but the lovable shrimp will always be know as the crustacean that nearly drove a fine restaurant out of business.

For Red Lobster fans, the good news is that they were able to stay afloat. USAToday says the new CEO, Damola Adamolekun, has said they have received endless question about shrimp. Do people have a life?

When you could get what would be considered "all you can eat shrimp" for $20 bucks, I guess not.

Well, there is now some sort of good news,

First of all our Grand Rapids Red Lobster restaurants are still open.

Second, Red Lobster has created a new deal for Shrimp lovers, SpendLESS Shrimp.

Here is what USAToday wrote about Red Lobster.

"Red Lobster has a new shrimp deal, but it won't be quite as customer-friendly as the one you're thinking of. The seafood chain on Sept. 8 announced a new, limited-time "SpendLESS Shrimp" promotion, playing on the now-infamous endless shrimp deal that cost the company $11 million in losses prior to it filing for bankruptcy in May 2024. The new promotion offers customers three shrimp flavors on one plate for $15.99. That's more restrictive than the endless promotion, which at one point offered nonstop shrimp for $20."

You'll find other new additions to the Red Lobster menus as they evolve out of bankruptcy, so now you can relax and stop at Grand Rapids Red Lobsters on 28th Street, SE, and Rivertown Point in Grandville.
