The rain most of us have received over the last couple of days has been a relief, but it's not enough to eliminate some of the problems we have been facing in West Michigan.

The weather forecast shows very little rain in the near future.  We'll need more to help reduce the amount of water used for irrigation.

Should watering bans be issued in West Michigan to ensure our supply of water remains safe?

A number of cities across the Midwest have been issuing watering bans.  Often bans on irrigation allow homeowners to water only on even or odd days, instead of every day.

The drought has been running wells dry.  It also has lead to a record amount of water usage.  Zeeland broke its all-time single-day peak water usage record on July 17. The previous record was set on July 7, 2012.

The rain most of us got was nice, but we've got a long ways to go.
