See Which Michigan State Parks Include Inflatable Water Parks
Want to enjoy the thrills of a water park, but can't pull yourself away from Michigan's amazing lakes and state parks?
You've got five places where you can enjoy both at the same time!
The inflatable water parks, also called aqua parks, include inflatable slides, runways, jumping pillows and bouncers. They are suitable for both kids and adults.
The Michigan DNR says the first inflatable water park opened at Holly Recreation Area in Oakland County in 2016.
The parks are run by vendors who pay the state a percentage of their gross sales. The money goes into the Michigan DNR's Park Improvement Fund. In 2018, gross sales ranged from $112,000 to $373,000.
The five Michigan state parks that include inflatable water parks are:
- Bald Mountain Recreation Area in Oakland County
- Brighton Recreation Area in Livingston County
- Holly Recreation Area’s Heron Beach
- Van Riper State Park in Marquette County
- Wilson State Park in Clare County
All water parks are now open for the summer.
