Salvation Army and Star Wars Team Up at Woodland Mall Saturday, December 1st

With the holiday season comes many non-profits raising money to support the fine work they do.

And, nothing is more recognizable than the bell ringers of the Salvation Army.  Volunteers  are stationed at many popular shopping locations hoping that the public will be generous and contribute to the red kettles.

This Saturday, December 1st, they're going to have a little fun at Woodland Mall, as the Grand Rapids Advisory Board of The Salvation Army of Kent County will be joined by some of the most famous characters in modern film history.

The Imperial Stormtroopers, Darth Vader and Tusken Raiders from The Great Lakes Garrison, at the interior entrances of Macy’s, JC Penney and Sears from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In addition, The Salvation Army Brass Band will be playing a number of favorite Christmas carols in The Cafes in the Woods Food Court in the mall, adding to the festive mood of the afternoon.

Bring the whole family.  It should be great fun.  And, you would be helping a great cause help those in need this holiday season.
