Now that we're through Thanksgiving, Christmas is coming on. There is nothing better than the hustle and bustle, and stress of Christmas! Okay, maybe not. I wears you out when you're trying to find the right gifts, plan your meal, etc. Everything was better back "in the day," right? Probably all of our memories, when we were kids, are all warm and fuzzy. Hey, we weren't the mom's and dad's then, so we could just play and wait for Santa.

The Santa Parade was always the kick-off of the Christmas season, and boy, were they fun back in the day as we all waited for Santa at the end of the parade!

And the downtown decorations were amazing. The streets were lit up with holiday cheer, and everyone would come downtown to see how beautiful it was.

Shopping at all the stores was always a real treat at the three major department stores, Herpolsheimer's, Steketee's and Wurzburg's!

And of course, you had to ride the Herp's (Herpolsheimer's) train!

Ah, the good old days. So many fun memories. It's kind of funny, though. Think about it. These will be the "good old days" for our children and grand children, COVID and all!

I'll bet they remember all the good things and wish they were back to today just as we probably wish were back in our "good old days!"
