Grand Rapids bicyclists have a few more places to work on their bikes thanks to four new bicycle repair stations installed by Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids.

The repair stations have been installed on GVSU's Pew Grand Rapids Campus and are open to the public.

Mark Rambo, manager of Pew Campus Operations, said there has been an increase in faculty, staff and student bikers on the downtown campus.

“The repair stations will provide an outlet for minor repairs and filling up low tires,” said Rambo.

Rambo said the Dero brand repair stations include all of the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs.

The bicycle repair stations are located at the L. William Seidman Center, Eberhard Center, Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences and Winter Hall.

The project was a joint effort between Pew Campus Operations and the Office of Sustainability Practices.
