My wife and I have been talking about summer vacation ideas. With gas prices, we may be limited in our choices. The kids have seen Michigan from border to border. We've done the bridge, the island, all the best resorts. We've done Detroit and Chicago. Cedar Point? Been there / done that. We were thinking about driving to the Grand Canyon. Too far / expensive. Maybe the Falls & Toronto.

The majority of Americans are planning to head out on a vacation this summer. Just over 80-percent of those taking part in the new Orbitz Summer Travel Survey say they'll be going away, even though gas prices are high. But 63-percent admit they're keeping fuel costs in mind as they consider where and how they will travel. Most vacationers are also planning to stick to a budget. Three-quarters intend to spend less than two-thousand-dollars on their trip, while 60-percent are hoping to keep their trip under 15-hundred-dollars. The top vacation destination this year is Orlando, Florida. Las Vegas and Seattle are also popular, while Los Angeles and Denver round out the top five. The list is based on booking made via Orbitz.com.
