After the strange weather we had this year, we knew it would be bad for area growers.  Now comes word that Motman's Orchard in Allendale will remain closed because the early spring killed their crop.

Signs next to the greenhouse and orchard are written in white-on-black lettering, saying "lost our apple crop" and "our Farm Market will remain closed this year."

Bob Motman said to FOX17 "when you walk through the orchards, you can see that there are no apples. Those that survived are soft or small." He went on to say that it's never been this bad in all the years he's owned the farm.
