More Shopping In Downtown Grand Rapids

Shopping in downtown Grand Rapids used to be grand!  All of the "must-go-to" shops were downtown, not to mention three major departments stores.

Then, came urban sprawl and suburban shopping malls, and with the malls came a slow decline of downtown retail.

Grand Rapids has revitalized it's downtown now with entertainment, fine restaurants, fabulous hotels, and thousands moving into new apartments and condos.  But, retail shopping has been lagging behind.  Many efforts have been made with only slight success.

And now, more revitalization in retail.  Nine retails shops in the Peck Building in downtown Grand Rapids are now open for business.

Welcome the 'MoDiv' development.  It's a retail incubator with flexible rental spaces with short term leases meant to encourage new retailers.

Let's all hope 'MoDiv' succeeds and downtown, once again, can become a retail destination.
