Police have a suspect in custody following the murder of two women in the Mid-Michigan area.

The Lansing State Journal reports that the victims have been identified as 26-year-old Kaylee Ann Brock of Holt and 32-year-old Julie Ann Mooney of Williamston.

Around 2:40 Friday morning, police responded to a call of a man breaking a personal protection order at a home in 5300 block of Mall Drive West in Delta Township.

A former girlfriend of the man said he had been knocking on her door and sending disturbing texts. The man said he loved her and so had "spared" her, but was “ridding the demons of some dear friends.”

The man left the residence and was pulled over by Eaton County police on a traffic stop on  Interstate 69 near Otto Road.

According to The Lansing State Journal, the man showed police photos of two dead women on his phone.

Police found the bodies of the two women in their homes. It is believed they were killed by blunt force trauma.

According to Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth, the suspect intended to kill two more women, both of whom were notified and are safe.

Wriggelsworth said,

“There’s no doubt he was on a killing spree. A true bad guy was taken off the street by the Eaton County Sheriff's Department and thank God for that."

The suspect is described as a 27-year-old Delta Township man. His identity has not yet been released.
