You’ve heard the comparisons.

This is what it is about: This Michigan State University men's basketball team looks a lot like last year’s NCAA Division I national champion, UConn.

Whether or not that comparison is fair gets put to the test on the court in the NCAA Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championships' Final Four matchups are:

  • No. 7-seeded Michigan State (27-11) vs. No. 1-seeded Duke, with tipoff at 6:09 p.m. EDT today; the TV broadcast is on TBS.
  • No. 1-seeded Kentucky (38-0) vs. No. 1-seeded Wisconsin (35-3), with tipoff at 8:49 p.m. EDT today; the TV broadcast is on TBS.

TBS begins its NCAA Final Four coverage today at 3 p.m. EDT. CBS-TV  broadcasts the national championship on Monday night, with pre-game coverage starting at 8:30 p.m. EDT and the game tipping off at 9:18 p.m. EDT.

Michigan State is back in the Final Four for the seventh time under head coach Tom Izzo.

At first, the only tangible commonality between Michigan State and UConn of 2014 are that both teams earned No. 7 seeds in the NCAA tournament after strong performances in their conference tournaments. UConn defeated Kentucky 60-54 for the 2014 title.

Now things are looking awfully similar for the Spartans and the Huskies, and that has to be a good feeling for the Spartans.

Just take a look for yourself.

That's pretty crazy, right?

Will it bode well for MSU?

Maybe. Maybe not.

But it definitely feels good to have those numbers in your corner. Right Spartans fans?
