Michigan Players Help USA Junior Hockey Team To World Title [Video]

The USA Junior hockey team stunned the favored Canadians 2-0 to win the world championships in Edmonton. The team had a distinct Michigan flavor. 

Goalie Spencer Knight kicked out 34 shots to get the shut out, as Trevor Zegras and Alex Turcotte notched the goals for Team USA in the game, played in front of a near empty Rogers Centre.

The Team USA roster had a distinct Michigan flavor with six players having state connections.

Forwards Brendon Bisson and Matthew Berniers along with defenseman Cam York all play college hockey for the University of Michigan Wolverines.

Forward John Farinacci plays junior hockey for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, and goalie Logan Stein is currently playing at Ferris State.

Hunter Skinner from Pinckney also saw action at defense for the champions. He played for the Muskegon Lumberjacks last season, and this season is with the London Knights.

Team Canada had been dominating the tournament until running into the USA, outscoring opponents 41-4, and had never trailed in a tournament game until the final.
