The web site GZeroMedia.com took every state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and compared it with a country in the rest of the world that has a similar GDP.

Michigan has the same GDP as Sweden, which is pretty surprising, because Sweden is known as a country which provides pretty heady stuff for its citizens, like good roads (despite similar crappy weather conditions), inexpensive day care, free college tuition, and affordable medical care.

So what does Michigan have that Sweden doesn't? Well, bad baseball and football teams to start.
