Normally, the Silver Lake State Park ORV area opens April 1st and you're able to get out and start enjoying being outdoors.  But with the state currently under the governor's stay-at-home order, the opening g date has been moved once again, this time to Wednesday, June 3rd.

That opening date is contingent on Governor Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” Executive Order being lifted or relaxed on May 15th. If the order gets extended, the opening date would change.

Officials said in the press release the two weeks between the order being lifted and the ORV area opening would be used for park staff to find and train seasonal help, clean & fix bathrooms and fix infrastructure along the trails. But that couldn’t and wouldn’t happen until nonessential work is once again permitted.

You can check out their website for updates as to when the park opens to the public following the COVID-19 pandemic.
