Meijer Coming to Downtown Grand Rapids

Earlier this spring, we learned about a grocery store being proposed at 38 Commerce in downtown Grand Rapids.

Today, the Grand Rapids Business Journal reports that Meijer is attached to a development planned for near Bridge Street and Stocking Avenue in Grand Rapids.

The development by Rockford Construction would take place on the block northeast of Bridge/Stocking.

Meijer is described as the "initial partner" for the mixed-use development which would also include office space, housing and parking. The new Meijer store would be smaller than other Meijer stores to better fit the neighborhood.
