Earlier this spring, we learned about a grocery store being proposed at 38 Commerce in downtown Grand Rapids. Today, the Grand Rapids Business Journal reports that Meijer is attached to a development planned for near Bridge Street and Stocking Avenue in Grand Rapids.

Rockford Construction announced that they have closed on the final parcel of land and will be breaking ground this month on quality, market rate housing with college students in mind in Grand Rapids’ West Side neighborhood. Fulton Place will be located on Fulton Street West, between Lexington and Seward Streets.

Increasing employment for Grand Rapids youth is a huge goal for 2015, and Mayor George Heartwell is pushing hard to make sure it happens.

Whenever I see a news story that talks about more jobs coming to Grand Rapids and/or West Michigan it always piques my interest.  It's a good thing, right?  I mean when you think of all the people who have lost jobs in Michigan it can be a bit overwhelming.  Any bit of news about jobs moving here is a good thing.
