Here we go again!
Another food recall is affecting Michigan and Indiana, and it's one of our favorite sausages!

The FDA has issued a recall of Johnsonville BRATS CHEDDAR Bratwurst! In fact, more than 22,000 pounds of the sausage brats.
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service says the "cheddar bratwurst product may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically hard plastic."
There have been some customer complaints about finding hard plastic in the brats that were produced on February 5 of this year.
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service says that the product subject to recall bears establishment number “Est. 1647” on the front of the label. These items were shipped to many states, including Michigan and Indiana, and should not be eaten.
And now that it's finally getting nice outside and grilling season is on, this is not good news to have to throw our meat away!
Check your freezers to see if you may have these brats and either toss them or take them back to the store where you purchased them. You want to be safe, and it's a really good idea not to eat some hard plastic with your brat!
The Food Safety folks did say that as of now there have not been any confirmed injury reports.
How Can You Check Out Recalls?
It's easy to do this by going to the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
If you have any concerns and food safety questions, FSIS says you can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or send a question via email to MPHotline@usda.gov.
