There is a bunch of fun happening in Newyago this holiday weekend, and it just might the thing you're looking for to put a little excitement in your Labor Day weekend. It's the 38th Annual Logging Festival, running September 2nd. 3rd. and 4th.
It's truly fun for the whole family. Since 1984, it's a fun event with arts and crafts, exhibits from over 100 crafters from all over the country along with log carving, a parade, midway rides downtown, and a chicken BBQ.

The Championships Chopping and Sawing was new last year and a huge hit drawing talent from around the region including current All Around World Champ Matt Cougar of West Virginia, and it's back again.

New this year is the first ever Logging Festival Amateur Log Rolling contest with local athletes and some coming from Mackinaw City, Wisconsin and Illinois. It's at NOON sharp on Saturday, September 3.

Log Rolling is a sparring sport much like boxing where you win a fall.
3 out 5 falls wins the match. You cannot cross the centerline and cannot touch your opponent but you can trash talk and kick water.
The Ole’ timers used to spit tobacco at each other!
It is just as exciting to watch as roll because it is fast paced and edge of your seat action.
Thrills, Skills and Spills !

All of the action is at Brooks Park, Croton Drive and Shaw Park Drive, Newaygo, MI 49337
