On Saturday, police were called to an estate sale north of Fennville when a grenade (thought to be fake) was discovered to be real.

The street was closed and the bomb squad called so the grenade could be safely taken away.

I love watching those shows where people are trying to find big bargains or rare items at auctions and sales.  You can find some interesting items at those sales, but you can also find a few things that you don't want.  That was the case Saturday, near Fennville.

Mlive.com has more:

Troopers were called to the residence on 58th Street, north of M-89, about 12:30 p.m. when the grenade was discovered.

One of the family members in charge of the estate sale moved the grenade to the side of the road while authorities were called.

The grenade was taken by the state police bomb squad to a location in Grand Rapids, where it will be safely detonated, said Trooper Lincoln Miller of the state police’s Wayland post.
