LaughFest 2013 Community Showcase – Applications And Information

LaughFest wants YOU to participate in the LaughFest Community Showcase in 2013!

LaughFest has added two new categories increasing the ways you can join in the fun by creating laughs at LaughFest 2013!

LaughFest has added the categories of College Stand-Up and College Improv for 2013.

This is in addition to a number of other categories including:

Amateur Stand-Up Comedy Showcase: Always wanted to try your hand at stand-up comedy? This is your chance!

College Improv: This showcase is an opportunity for college improv groups to perform to audiences ready for laughter.

College Stand-Up: Calling all current college students! Show Grand Rapids your comedic skills.

Dance Showcase: This showcase is open to all ages of dancers from all genres of dance in a performance for audiences of all ages.

Sketch/Improv Groups: Bring your group on down and show audiences your talents in making people laugh.

Kids Joke Night: Children will be able take the spotlight here with the opportunity to get on stage and tell their funniest jokes.

Late Night Comedy Pros: Are you an experienced comic yourself who has been honing your skills at open mic nights and in clubs? This is your opportunity to showcase your talents with other up and coming comics from Grand Rapids and throughout the Midwest.

Literary Showcase: Local writers and poets-don’t miss your chance to share what makes you laugh.

Music & Theatre Showcase: This is a unique opportunity for local talent, both amateur and professional, to display their skills through music and theatre performances.

Semi Pro Comedy Showcase: Want to fine tune your comedic skills to get to that next level of pro? This is your opportunity to showcase your talents with other semi pro comics.

“What Makes You Laugh About Cancer?”:  Children and adults will be able share their stories on this topic during this special event.

Applications are due no later than Friday, January 11, 2013.
