Oh man, I'm getting excited for some sort of normalcy now that things are beginning to reopen around the state... and the John Ball Zoo is definitely one of those things to get excited for.

The zoo announced that they are officially open! This weekend, members can finally visit JB Zoo for the first time this season. The general public will be allowed to visit beginning Monday, June 8.

Upon arrival, guests will get to enter in the zoo's new entry which promises to make it more accessible & welcoming.

In addition, the new exhibit BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise is officially open,

...featuring more than 40 life-sized animal sculptures created with 1.8 million toy building bricks.

Of course, reopening the zoo comes with some changes. All guests, members and non-members, are required to purchase a ticket online and reserve a time slot. You must arrive at the zoo within that 30 minute time frame to redeem your ticket for entry. This is done to maintain social distancing.

You'll also notice hand-washing and sanitizing stations have been added throughout the zoo. Guests are encouraged to wear masks but employees will be required to wear them. Cashless transactions are also encouraged when making any purchases. Some indoor spaces & the playground will be closed during this time.

While you're there, don't forget to visit the zoo's newest tiger, Mabelle.

They'll be open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
