Love Escape Rooms? You’ll Love Being Locked in John Ball Zoo!
Have you ever tried an escape room?
Escape rooms are so fun. I have done it two times and my team of family members actually solved the puzzle/mystery to unlock the door. It was exhilarating!
So here is a fantastic challenge. You can be locked in the John Ball Zoo this Friday, July 11, and try to solve nature related mysteries, puzzles and get to see the zoo in a whole new way.
It's kind of a race against the clock through all the big cats, but it's not a race against other teams, so you can relax and have fun.
It's called "Locked Zoo: Cryptic Cats," that happens after the zoo closes this Friday, July 11, and is an adults only adventure, 18+, and you must have a valid ID. That is when the zoo becomes a sort of escape room.
The John Ball Zoo tried this last year and it was so successful that they are bringing it back with, not just Cryptic Cats, but three other nights, one in August and two evenings in September.
Locked Zoo: Cryptic Cats is 6-9 p.m. this Friday.
You may choose to go it alone, but it's much more fun to put a team together. The zoo says your team can be from one to six members.
This is such a great way to enjoy one of our city gems, the John Ball Zoo, and even better with no children allowed.

Here is the deal. It is a ticketed event, $30 for members and $35 for non members. You should plan to arrive between 6 and 8 p.m. with the zoo staying open until 9 p.m. But it's recommended to allow at least two hours to "escape," (solve mysteries/puzzles) and the zoo says at least one team member should have a fully charged cell phone to help you along the way.
They will also have a fun variety of food and drinks for purchase.
Good Luck!
