Thanks to a $4 Million dollar funding grant, they will be able to pave the road to Hamlin Lake, as well as expanding the Lake Michigan parking. On top of that, some off season things will be getting a little extra love. They say they are planning to do upgrades to their warming shelters and traffic areas as well.

While the park will mostly be closed during the off season, they hope to have it back up and functioning by the middle of summer 2025, setting a date for the project to go through July 1, 2025.

It's exciting to see one of our state parks getting a little extra love, even if it means we have to stay away for nearly a year while they do it. If you want to keep up with the project as it's happening, you can visit their website.
