Michigan Artist Is Getting Clowned For Her National Anthem Rendition
All-Star Games are staples of every sport, a fun celebration of the sport that lets the players relax and the fans enjoy the sport for the sport rather than the competition. These events are usually opened by a celebrity singer singing the National Anthem, a major honor that results in the singer being placed under a microscope.
Everyone remembers Whitney Houston's rendition for its beauty, but everyone also remembers Fergie's version for its..uniqueness. Unfortunately, this country artist from Southfield, Michigan is currently getting the Fergie treatment after her performance last night was received with less than glowing reviews.
Ingrid Andress
Four-time Grammy-losing singer-songwriter (as her Instagram bio states) country artist Ingrid Andress, known for her songs "More Hearts Than Mine" and "Wishful Drinking", saw breakout success with her debut album Lady Like, getting three Grammys for Best Country Album, Best Country Song, and Best New Artist.
Foul Ball
While Ingrid's track record has been pretty solid, her performance last night was anything but. Almost from the first note, her singing was uneven. Even the players were having a tough time keeping a straight face (Alec Bohm was doing everything in his power to stay professional).
As Twitter does when something newsworthy happens, users had a field day with her performance.
I don't want to bash her too much because there I could ever go up somewhere and perform (even if that performance is questionable), but this was an unfortunate moment that she'll have to work to escape the shadow of going forward. She really is a solid performer, this was just not the home run she was hoping for.
