UPDATE: Kent County Sheriff's Office shares that the two have been located and are safe.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing teenager and her infant son.

Authorities say 17-year-old Naveah Maria Cardenas-Taylor left her home in Byron Township on January 24, 2026, along with her 10-month-old son, Sekani. Since then, no one has been able to confirm where they are, and loved ones are growing increasingly concerned about their safety.

Naveah is described as a Black female, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and roughly 170 pounds. Investigators do not know what she was wearing when she left. She does not have access to a vehicle and her phone only works on Wi-Fi. Police say it’s possible she may be staying with a friend.

If you have seen Naveah or Sekani, or have any information that could help, please contact law enforcement right away.
