French Tourist Flies in For Michigan’s Famous Sloppy Joe

Some say the Sloppy Joe began in Cuba in 1918, but for some reason, people are willing to travel across the world to Michigan for its version of the sandwich.

A Sloppy Joe is a loose meat sandwich that features ground beef simmered in tomato-based sauce, seasoned and served on a hamburger bun. The sandwich is known for being messy due to the sauce and the loose meat, hence its name, "Sloppy Joe."

Michigan Sloppy Joe Draws Visitor From France

A young lady traveled from France to Michigan to visit the Henry Ford Museum, but one of her favorite memories of the trip was the Sloppy Joe sandwich.

The French woman ordered the Sloppy Joe that came with Better Made potato chips and a pickle. She also ordered another favorite, an ice-cold root beer Faygo in a glass bottle.

The French woman appears to enjoy every moment of what a typical Michigan summer is like at lunch or the dinner table, but then the Sloppy Joe is delivered to the table.
