With snow and cold comes the time of year when skiing, snowboarding, hockey, ice skating, and more get a spotlight. These winters make Michigan an especially great state for breeding winter athletes, as seen during the Winter Olympics held every four years.

The 2026 Winter Olympics are taking place in Milan and Cortina, Italy, from February 6th to the 22nd. Headed to Milano and Cortina are 14 Michiganders and a few who have lived there for a time.
