Underwater-Themed Playground Opening Up in Grand Rapids Area
A new spot for family fun is about to make a splash near Grand Rapids!
As part of the Wyoming City Center Project, the area is being transformed into a more walkable, downtown-style hub with new trails, housing, shops, and restaurants.

We’ve already seen new businesses pop up, like the recently opened Thai and Beyond. Now, another addition is on the way: Mermaid Bay Indoor Play is set to open this summer inside Roger’s Plaza in Wyoming!
The underwater-themed playground is packed mermaids, pirates, sea creatures, and fun activities to keep kids busy and imaginations flowing. You’ll find huge play structures with slides and obstacle courses, ball pits, soft-sculpture climbing areas, trampolines, hoops, air cannons, and even creative role-play zones like a mini hospital, kitchen, and supermarket.

And one of the coolest features? Real live jellyfish you can check out between play sessions.
As a kid who was completely obsessed with mermaids, I would have loved a place like this! Now I’m looking forward to checking it out with my nieces—it seems like a great spot to spend a fun afternoon together.
Mermaid Bay will also have food and drinks on site, including a candy and gift shop, coffee and snacks, plus kid favorites like chicken nuggets, tater tots, fries, mac and cheese, breakfast sandwiches, pizza, slushies, and more.

Designed as a place where kids can run, climb, jump, and explore for hours, parents will get a chance to relax nearby. Mermaid Bay will also be available for birthdays and group outings.
Membership pricing starts at $39.99 per month for one person. One-time visit prices haven’t been revealed yet, but a punch card system will give families every 10th visit free.
The owners previously shared on Facebook the new entertainment venue would open in August of 2025. The latest update is from August 11:
