The Grand Rapids Police Department is asking for help identifying a suspect in a hit-and-run in northeast Grand Rapids last week.

The incident occurred at 5:53p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, on Plainfield Ave. NE south of Elmdale NE. An adult male was attempting to cross Plainfield on foot when he was struck in the center lane. He was taken to the hospital and treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect briefly exited her vehicle before leaving the scene.

According to police, the suspect is a female with brown or black hair that she wore in a bun or ponytail at the time of the crash. Authorities believe she is of medium height, thinner build, and in her 20s or 30s. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, tan or orange leggings, sunglasses, and white shoes.

The suspect's vehicle is likely a 2018-2012 Ford Escape, possibly green, gray, or real. There may be some front end or hood damage, but that has not been confirmed.
