For many sweet tooth lovers (me), today could be considered a national holiday. The one day a year when you can walk into any 7-Eleven or Speedway (surprise, Speedway is owned by 7-Eleven as well) and get a free Slurpee to celebrate the gas station chain's birthday. The joke's on them because it feels like a present for us more than for them, but free is free and I will never blink twice at that.

However, there is slight hack you can do that will let you walk away with two slurpees instead of one.

Free Slurpee Day

Since 2002, 7-Eleven has celebrated its birthday on July 11th in various ways, mainly giving out free Slurpee drinks to loyal customers around the country. This year, the company is giving out Slurpees in a specially designed cup (while supplies last) made by a 7-year-old- Nolan, a cancer survivor from the Children's Miracle Network. There is also a special flavor available at participating stores: Mountain Dew Freedom Fusion.

How To Get Multiple Drinks

Usually, each customer going into a 7-Eleven or Speedway is only allowed one Slurpee per person. However, there is a very simple way to snag yourself another free drink on top of it. By signing up for either store's rewards program, you'll receive an offer for a second free drink.

If you're heading to 7-Eleven for your Slurpee, sign up for the 7REWARDS program via the 7-Eleven app. If Speedway is more your speed, become a Speedy Rewards member. Both are free to join. Another app on your phone is a small price to pay free Slurpees.
